This year has been nothing short of monumental for Grace Rose Flowers. What started as a passion project—a simple hobby to bring more joy into our lives—has officially taken its first steps toward becoming a real business. The journey so far has been equal parts terrifying and exhilarating. We’ve learned, adapted, and grown with every challenge we've faced. And even when things didn’t go as planned, we kept going. Starting from scratch and humbly building our name and reputation has been a humbling yet rewarding process.

Through it all, flowers have been at the heart of everything. They’ve connected us with incredible new people, deepened bonds with old friends, and reminded us why we started this in the first place. This season, we caught a glimpse of what the future could look like—a future that feels tangible, achievable, and oh-so-exciting. It’s no longer just a dream; Grace Rose is becoming a reality.

Growing Beyond a Daydream

This isn’t just a “cute” idea or a fleeting distraction from the demands of corporate life. It’s a calling—something I’m pouring my heart and soul into. And this year, that dedication began to bloom in unexpected ways:

  • Selling Out at Our First Market: Seeing our bouquets fly off the table was both thrilling and validating.

  • Launching a Subscription Service: Bringing fresh, local flowers into more homes each week has been a dream come true.

  • Hosting Weekly Porch Stands: These mornings brought us face-to-face with our community, sharing the joy and stories behind each bloom.

Alongside these milestones, I immersed myself in learning. I completed courses through the Cornell Small Farms Program and The Market Gardeners Institute, gained valuable insights from the owner of the flower farm, Floramama Ferme Florale, and even attended my first farmers’ conference, thanks to a scholarship from Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association. I learned the art of creating garlands, wreaths, and floral arrangements, constantly pushing myself to try new things.

Looking Ahead to 2025: Dreaming Bigger

Next year, the dream grows even bigger:

  • Joining the Floret Flower Workshop: Continuing to expand my knowledge and skills in flower farming and planning our future farm.

  • Testing Hydroponic Tulip Growth: Exploring innovative methods to extend the beauty of tulip season in the midst of winter based on learnings from The Tulip Workshop.

  • Making the Big Move: Securing land to expand our operations and bring the full vision of Grace Rose Farm to life.

This year is also deeply personal. It’s about honoring my grandma Grace’s legacy and showing her—and myself—that we’ve turned this dream into something real. As we expand, I hope to inspire others who might be holding onto their own big dreams.

Believe in What’s Possible

To anyone out there with a dream, hear me when I say this: You don’t have to start big, have all the money in the world, or rely entirely on others. You need faith—faith in your vision, your passion, and your ability to overcome setbacks. You’re capable of more than you can imagine, but you’ll never know unless you try. And when you fall, get back up. Keep going.

2025 is the year we’ll say, “We did it!” Together, we prove that anything is possible with determination, hard work, and the courage to try. If I can do this, you can too.

Here’s to blooming where we’re planted—and growing beyond what we ever thought possible. 🌸
